The Beauty Corner.

Good evening lovelies!

Ever since I started blogging and building up my make up collection I have been interested in how all you lovely people store and organise all your products. Having taken a lot of inspiration from peoples instagrams and blogs I thought it was time to share mine with you :) (this post is pretty picture heavy sorry!)

So one of the things that I really liked from seeing all your storage, was the acrylic storage that everyone seemed to have! I think that it looks really smart, its easy to clean and you can see what is inside each drawer without having to open it - bonus! The other bits I have either recycled from something else or picked up along the way to increase my storage capacity. I have to say its a lot more fun (and easy) doing my make up from this every morning instead of having to scrabble around in a make up bag! It also keeps it all in tip top condition and stops everything from getting dirty or covered in different products, my powder never breaks anymore either! ;)

Nail varnish rack - Ebay
Cream shelf insert - Ikea
Pink acrylic organiser - old jewellery box insert
Brush holder - Wilkinsons
Lipstick storage - Ebay
Acrylic drawers - Rymans
Small glass jars - cleaned out candle jars from Wilkinsons

The Yule Monty!

Hello Beautifuls!

Now I'm pretty sure most of you will have heard of the crazy 'Star of the Month' offers that Boots have been knocking out. In a previous post I shared the beautiful Ted Baker makeup set that I got for a mere £19, bargain! But this month they really have excelled themselves by treating us to Soap & Glorys - The Yule Monty.

This week I have received many an email from both Soap & Glory and Boots telling me about this incredible offer and how they have literally flown off the shelves! But can you blame us girls? As this gift set as originally priced at £60 and has been reduced to a mere £27 its an absolute steal.

The set itself is presented in a stunning limited edition Jonathan Saunders bag and contains 9 full sized products (and a trio of sample sachets) that would cost around £72 if bought separately! This including:

Hand Food Hand Cream
Sugar Crush Body Wash ( one of my all time favourites! )
The Righteous Butter Body Butter
Peaches and Clean Deep Purifying Cleanser
Heel Genius Foot Cream
Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion
The Scrub of Your Life Body Buffer
Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara
Sexy Mother Pucker XL in Pink Out Loud
samples of Make Yourself Youthful Super Serum
a £5 off Soap&Glory facial skincare!

To be honest for £27 you can't exactly say no can you...

However I have to say that I am SO glad that I managed to get my hands on this! Having planned on getting up early to go buy it on Friday morning and dropping endless hints to my boyfriend (both plans failed terribly), I was feeling a bit apprehensive about whether I would be able to bag myself one. All over Instagram, Twitter, Facebook & email, Soap & Glory were telling me that they had already sold out online and were selling out fast nationwide! I definitely thought I had left it too late... But I took a chance and marched over to Boots after work yesterday to see if I could get one, and luck was on my side! I honestly can't wait to try it all out and highly recommend that you try and get your hands on one!

The Great & The Gorgeous.

Good Evening Beauties!

So last Thursday I popped into Boots and picked up an absolute bargain and just had to share it with you all!

This beautiful The Great & The Gorgeous makeup kit from Ted Baker, a part of the Boots christmas gifts range. Originally priced at £40 I knew that I couldn't pay full price for something that may not be good quality, despite the large amount of products! The kit includes:

2 Nail varnishes
Pink eye cream
Pink glitter eyeliner
2 Lip crayons in Pink and Plum
A set of eyelashes
Black eyeliner pen
4 Pink handled makeup brushes
2 Illuminator creams in Pink & Gold
A bronzing compact

Although it would be a good offer for £40, I still wasn't ready to part with that amount of money. Then, earlier last week I just happened to be walking past Boots (unfortunately it was closed) and a large poster in the window caught my eye, offering this set for just £19!! Now that is an offer I couldn't refuse! I have to say that if you are considering buying this (even though it is now full price again) I most definitely would! Its beautiful and actually extremely good quality! I don't know why I ever doubted that from Ted anyway! Here are close ups of the products:

This set can be bought online or in store!

Little bit of Lush.

Good Morning Lovelies,

So the other day I wanted a little pick me up, after being off dance for a week due to my silly right knee giving in, so I popped into Lush and picked up a few little bits.

Recently I've become a bit of a fan of Lushes skincare range, and last time I was in there I was recommended this face mask, Ayesha

It's quite a thick mask, more like a mud mask and smells like asparagus. I haven't yet had a chance to test it out but I can't wait!

Next up I was recommended this lovely bath bomb by the lovely shop assistant, as she said it was one of her favourite! It's called Twilight and smells simply amazing! So excited to try it out :)

She also told me to try this little beauty! It's a luxury bath melt called Ceridwen's Cauldron, it's a slow melting one allowing you to enjoy your bath fully and leaving you with a little bag of oats and herbs to gently exfoliate with. It sounds truly amazing...

So when I was at the till paying for my treasures, the lovely woman serving me questioned if I had ever used henna, as I am currently growing out my old red hair I have a lot of copper colours running through it. When I explained that I hadn't and haven't dyed my hair for over a year now due to the chemicals destroying my fine, easily broken hair. So the woman gave me 3 free samples to try, winner!

So first up I got a sample of the Caca Rouge hair colour, which I think I may tint the tips of my hair with when I get a chance.

Next up they gave me a sample of Roots, a deep conditioning treatment for fine, thin hair (perfect for me!)

They also gave me a sample of their Fair Trade Honey Shampoo, which smells of roses and is supposed to completely nourish my hair and make it beautiful :)

I have to say that I am VERY excited (as usual) to try out all these bits that I've picked up, especially the samples to see if I would buy the full size product. I have to say that Lush will never fail to amaze me, all the staff are so friendly and helpful when it comes to searching for products best suited for you. They are wonderful, and so is everything they sell!

What are your favourite Lush products?

Good Afternoon Beautiful People!

As the autumn has finally started to hit in, I felt that it was time to give my makeup a bit of an update. So I started off with blushers, over the summer I've been loyal to my Sleek Pumpkin blush trio, which is a vibrant mix of red, orange and pink! This is just a little bit too much for these colder days as it makes me look a little too rosy for my liking. As I am naturally really quite pale, having no sun kissed glow and bright orange cheeks is not a good look! So I did a bit of looking around and finally settled on this little beauty!

Benefits Rockateur!

As you can see it's a gorgeous shimmery rose gold colour that is just perfect for these colder months, as the gold undertones add a subtle healthy glow whilst the rose is just the perfect colour, in my eyes. It's such a beautiful colour and quality that I think it's going to become a firm favourite of mine. It does come out quite light to begin with but is completely buildable, meaning that you can create the shade that suits you best.

Here is Rockateur in action! I've only got a small amount on for a daytime look, it's made it quite hard to capture the shade in a photo but I've done my best!

What are your favourite blushes for the colder months?

Everyday Essentials.

Good evening lovelies!

So here is just a quick post about the little things that I just can't live without! I apologise in advance for the dreadful lighting in the photo too but there was no avoiding it :(

As you can see I take a range of vitamins on a daily basis, a lot of these contain vitamin C as I am determined to not get a cold this year! I take the chewy ones because I hate swallowing tablets and really struggle doing so. The others are Immune Support - Vitamin C and Iron simply because I'm anaemic and have a ridiculously low iron count in my blood, which made me really poorly over the summer so I now take these everyday! On top of this I take Folic Acid - yes before anyone says this is for pregnant women, I'm not with child, I just take it to help my hair grow and it actually works! It keeps my hair strong, healthy and promotes hair growth. Winner!

Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser.

This is an actual life saver and by far the best facial moisturiser I have used. 3 years ago my best friend told me to use it and I haven't stopped using it since, it not only keeps my skin soft but helps fight any breakouts that may crop up. It's a light moisturiser too so it doesn't make the skin greasy and despite how many other products I have tried out this will always have a permanent place in my daily routine!

Nivea Lip Butters.

Way superior to Vaseline. I have always had a problem with my lips drying out especially in the winter, so keeping them soft and moisturised is essential. Having always being a firm believer in Vaseline until last year, when I noticed that it was good at keeping my lips nourished when they were in good condition but when they started to dry out it just kept them that way, and didn't help them to heal! So after being pointed towards the Nivea Lip Butters by one of my lovely friends, I haven't looked back! They are so nourishing and the raspberry rose one (pictured) smells absolutely divine! So no longer do I have to battle with dry lips, as this keeps them in tip top condition. Mwah!

Simple Revitalising Eye Roll On.

One of the most annoying things about my face are the big black circles under my eyes. They make me look drawn, tired and pretty ghostly if I'm honest! So when I came across this little genius in Bodycare a while ago I thought I would give it a try! I'm not entirely sure if it works to eliminate my dark circles completely but it definitely makes them appear less visible so I don't need to slap on as much concealer!

Witch Blemish Stick.

This is one of my absolute FAVOURITE things that I have ever used, ever. One thing I have trouble with are breakouts, I don't have them very often but when I do, you definitely know about it... So a few years ago my Mumma gave me a witch stick. It's a hard stick containing tea tree that just draws all the gunk out of spots (gross sorry) and dries them up a lot faster than they would naturally. So no longer do I have to wait out nasty spots on my face because if I pop some of this on them before I go to bed 9 times out of 10, by the morning it has nearly vanished! Seriously everyone needs one of these in their possession it's an absolute beauty of a product!

Tangle Teezer.

The best thing since sliced bread. One of the problems that I face with my hair is that it is fine and very wispy, meaning that it breaks very easily. So my hairdresser suggested that I invested in this little beauty! The one pictured is my compact one that I bought from Boots, I originally bought the full sized one in blue, but loved it so much that I wanted one that I can carry around all the time! So basically Tangle Teezers brush your hair without hurting, breaking or weakening your hair like many brushes do, it also can be used on wet hair to make it easier to dry. This is wonderful for me as my hair is like a massive dreadlock when wet so this makes it all smooth and lovely again. I honestly don't know what I would do without this in my life, its fabulous.

So there they are, my everyday essential items that I use on a daily basis without fail! Are there any products that you couldn't live without? Or recommend that I try out? Leave a comment! I would be really interested to find these things out! :)

Ultimate Sugar Crush.

Good Evening Beauties,

Now anyone who has eyes and ears has heard about, or is already in love with Soap & Glory. I have never really given them much thought though, as I tend to avoid crazes as I know I get way too involved... (like Baby Lips, I have all 6) also as I like to find products on my own that I truly love, so hipster I apologise. But one day when I was attempting to find a birthday present for one of the girls, I decided to take a plunge and pick myself up a little something.

That something was the Sugar Crush Body Wash and in all honesty, I fell in love with it... of course. It smells so fresh and zingy, literally good enough to eat, like key lime pie! Anyway, currently in Boots the 3 for 2 offer is back on, on certain products and Soap & Glory are one of them. So I picked up the whole Sugar Crush set!

This beautiful trio are probably some of the best products that I have picked up in a long time. The body wash and buttercream are so moisturising and the scrub leaves my skin feeling super smooth and revitalised!

However, I have to say that my favourite of the three is definitely the scrub! Having seen so many bloggers raving about it, I'm so glad to have my paws on it. Its a thick sugar scrub (my favourite!) that smells delicious and isn't too harsh on the skin, because lets face it theres nothing worse than a scrub that practically tears your skin off... Following this with the buttercream is just perfect and keeps my skin moisturised for days, which is perfect as I'm not a religious moisturiser if I'm honest so hopefully this will look after my skin a bit better than I do myself!

Anyway you all need to go make the most of this offer while it lasts! I got all three for around £18.50 (as the body wash was free) so head on over to your local boots or check it out online!

What are your favourite S&G products?

Lush Haul & Skincare // Review

Evening wonderful people!

Well aren't you lucky, a double post form me today! I've been meaning to do this one for a while now and thought I had better do it before I forget again, so I do apologise for bombarding you all!

So recently I've been having trouble with my skin, I've just started back on my dance course and a new job in a restaurant, obviously it's going to take it's toll. I've aways had a problem with my t-zone being oily and prone to blackheads and never really been able to shift them (gross I know, I'm sorry). Having tried every brand under the sun and all the different new fangled products I can find, I've finally decided to give Lush a try.

First up I have to say that the lovely woman who served me in Lush Leicester was wonderful! I told her exactly what was going on with my face, and she sat down with me to explain the products that she would recommend, then let me try them out before I took the plunge and bought them! This was wonderful as in many shops the assistants can be stand offish and simply upsell the most expensive or new products that they have in, instead of taking the time to find something that would be good for you.

Anyway here's what I bought:

So first up I purchased Fresh Farmacy, a facial soap that contains calamine lotion which is amazing as it means it is very gentle on the skin. I have to say that since using this I have found that my skin has been a lot healthier. Not only has it dried up the excess oils in my skin, but it has also reduced the time any breakouts (which have been very often recently) may last. At around £5.00 for a 100g block it is definitely worth it as it will last for so long! The woman in the shop cut my block in half and wrapped them individually for me, which I definitely would ask them to do again! This will mean that the product will last even longer as you will always have one stored away. Also like any soap it does go a little bit balmy and soft so I would definitely recommend this as you don't want the whole block to do this, as it may get used up quicker!

Let the Good Times Roll is a gentle cleansing scrub that honestly smells AMAZING, and makes my skin feel so smooth and wonderful. As most of the scrubs I have used have either been too harsh on my skin or done absolutely nothing at all, I am over the moon about this. In just a week it has reduced the appearance of blackheads and made my skin look that little bit more alive in the morning! Although it is little pricey at around £6.35 for 100g, it is definitely something that I will keep purchasing simply because I'm so in love with it. Despite the price, you only need a small amount and you don't have to use it every morning (I just choose to as it's what keeps my skin under control) so it will definitely last a long time, hopefully longer than previous products I've used in the past.

Also while I was in there I thought I would pick up a couple of products that I have had my eye on for a very long time!

It seems that anyone who has instagram or any kind of interest in beauty products has heard of Lush's lip scrubs, and are raving about them - the bubblegum one especially! So I took the plunge and bought some and I'm so glad I did! I have a feeling that it is going to be one of my most used products during the colder months to keep my lips nice and smooth, plus it smells and tastes amazing!

And after missing out on it last year I've FINALLY got my hands on a bottle of the limited edition Snow Fairy (I made sure I bought the biggest bottle too) it smells gorgeous and leaves my skin soft and wonderful! It contains a lovely lilac iridescent glitter as well just to make it that little bit more irresistible!

Overall, I have to say that I've now fallen even more in love with Lush and their products. No longer will I just stick to their bath bombs or bubble bars (although they are my absolute favourite) but will be branching out to trying more of their skin care and maybe makeup products in the future!

What are you favourite Lush products?

Topshop Makeup Haul.

Hello Lovelies!

Having read other peoples blogs and seeing Topshops makeup plastered all over instagram, I decided to bite the bullet and finally buy some! Previously I only had a nail varnish in Green Room, which I got for my birthday and I love it! I have always looked at their makeup and wanted to buy it but there was something that was making me unsure about it, and I don't even know why that was.

However! Yesterday I popped in a picked up a few bits and pieces:

I haven't tested the products properly yet aside from the Matte Nails Top Coat (£6) which I have been lusting over for a while, and I have to say I'm in love with it already! I love the matte effect nails as it's a really simple way of updating any nail colour that you already have, without having to take time to bother with nail art.

The Cheek Duo that I picked up is in the colour Break of Day (£12.50) as I have been using Sleek's trio blush in pumpkin, which is very bright! I have been after something a little more subtle, this bronzer is perfect as it also blended in with a lovely pink blush, which I think will be just right for these autumn months.

Finally I picked up one of Topshops lipsticks in Brighton Rock (£8) it's a matte shade, which I normally stay away from but this is such a nice bright colour that I couldn't resist! Hopefully I will get a lot of wear out of it, especially when it comes up to the party season, because theres nothing better than a classic black cat eye and bright lipstick combo for a night out in my opinion!

Overall I have to say that I am extremely excited to try out these products, and will definitely be purchasing more in the future! The colours are so bright and lovely that I can't resist, and at such a reasonable price I don't see why I should!

Do you have any Topshop makeup? Do you have any recommendations?

Review // MAC - Patisserie.

Goood Afternoon!

This weekend I popped into Debenhams as I had gathered enough points for a £5.00 reward on my Beauty Card, and treated myself to a new MAC lipstick. Shock Horror! Honestly I have serious lipstick addiction... but I've been searching for the perfect simple, everyday shade and I think I've found it! Anyway the colour that I picked up is Patisserie.

The lipstick is a Lustre finish, it's light on the lips, very moisturising and lasts for hours. The colour is a slight pinky shade with a hint of shimmer, making my lips look dewy and full. This colour is buildable, and for me, the perfect nudey shade. Perfect for wearing everyday, for a laid back look or for a night out with a smokey eye.

What are your favourite everyday shades?

Review // Essie - Ballet Slippers.

Good evening my little lovelies!

As mentioned in my previous post, I recently picked up my first Essie nail polish in Ballet Slippers. Having been looking for a colour thats delicate and perfect for everyday wear, I feel that I have struck gold.

I also added a topcoat of Maybelline Colour Show in Sugar Crystals to my thumbs and ring fingers to add a little bit of extra sparkle!

The colour truly is a perfect match to my ballet slippers, that as a dancer gives me a little bit of extra satisfaction! As a strong believer in No7 nail varnish, I have to say that I have found myself an equally as good quality brand (although slightly more expensive) in Essie. I'm so impressed at the strength of the colour and how well it covers the nail, although it does take a few layers to make this colour opaque on the nail. I will definitely be making a few more Essie purchases in the near future!
